~Fire~

The Greek View

To the Greek's fire was one of the four classical elements.  Fire is associated with:
            -energy
            -passion
            -assertiveness
The Greeks also used shapes to identify with elements, and fire is represented by a tetrehedron or 4 triangles, which are connected.  It is the element with the fewest amounts of sides.

The Chinese View

To the Chinese, fire was one of the Five Elements or Five Phases.  These phases described the occurrance of certain natural phenonena.  In the ancient Chinese culture, fire was associated with:
            -Mars (the planet)
            -summer
            -south
            -daylight
            -heat
            -luck (Red is a lucky color according to the Chinese)
Fire also has two emotions associated with it.  Negatively, hate is associated with red.  Joy is the positive emotion represented by red.  Overall, fire is represented by a Red Pheonix.
The characterisitcs of fire are:
            -dynamism                  -restlessness
            -strength                    -aggression
            -persistence                -impatience
            -warmth                      -impulsive behavior
            -enthusiasm
            -creativity
